Dr. Blue and Coach Mark Fox
At Blue Laser Group, you’ll notice that we don’t use the term “LASIK surgery” very often. Of course, the procedures we perform are technically classified as surgical, but the problem is that the term “surgery” can bring inaccurate connotations. When most people think of “surgery,” they think of scalpels, blades and long recovery times. Using IntraLase technology, Blue Laser Group creates a very different experience with our All-Laser LASIK procedure. Planned using computer-driven mapping technology, accomplished with lasers accurate to microscopic scales and overseen by an Ophthalmologist with more than two decades of experience, your All-Laser LASIK procedure at the Blue Laser Group will be unlike any experience with a medical procedure you have probably ever had. If you are seeking a LASIK Athens expert we are proud to offer both an experienced LASIK surgeon and the latest technology in LASIK eye surgery.
Gentle touch LASIK
At Blue Laser Group, we are excited to introduce Gentle Touch LASIK for our patients. Gentle Touch LASIK begins with the doctor. A surgeon, who has had the LASIK procedure, has two distinct advantages that benefit his patients. First, he truly understands their hesitations and anxieties and can relate to them on a personal level. And second, he has a confidence in the safety and precision of the technology that one can only get from having the actual surgery.
Having had the procedure in 2009, prior to the many advancements in laser technology, Dr. Blue had first-hand experience in LASIK – without a gentle touch. He made it his personal quest to make the procedure as painless and comfortable as possible for his own patients.
There is just no substitute for experience.
Athens LASIK eye surgery expert, Dr. Richard Blue has been refining his technique for 18 years on over 25,000 LASIK procedures, which has given him the opportunity to make the LASIK experience remarkably easy and “gentle” for most patients. In fact, Blue Laser Group has performed more than 10 times the number of LASIK procedures than all other providers in Northeast Georgia combined. Your Source for LASIK surgery in Athens, Georgia.
The Z-6 laser technology is truly unique and is the only one of it’s kind in North East Georgia, providing a level of computer control not available with previous technology. It brings a level of comfort to the LASIK procedure that makes a definite difference for patients, hence the term, “Gentle Touch LASIK.”
Understanding Your LASIK Candidacy
There is perhaps nothing more important in the LASIK eye surgery process than determining your candidacy. If you are familiar with someone who has not had a good result the problems typically stem from poor judgement of candidacy. The candidacy process begins with a thorough eye health evaluation to check the overall health of your eye as well as the corneal thickness.
During your initial free LASIK screening, we will thoroughly examine your eyes and perform comprehensive testing to make sure that LASIK eye surgery is the right procedure for you. A medical and eye history will be taken and several tests will be performed, including: Dry eye testing , visual acuity and refractive error , screening visual field , pupil size in low & medium light , ocular pressure , general health of the eyes , corneal topography & corneal thickness.
Age: 18+ is approved by the FDA
